  For my final I wanted to do research on how Political figures use the media to influence the citizens and people of the world as well as how people use the media to shape and influence political figures. First I thought that this was only going to be citizens of the United States but I realized that our political figures also influence people from other areas. A prime example of this is the war/conflict the United States is with Israel.  I used social media as my main source of information and research because of its large increase of popularity. TikTok currently has 1.9 Billion active users globally, and in the United States it has 135.79 billion active users. It has increased over 42% in the past year and is the 5th most used social media. Instagram has 3 Billion users and 171.7 million users in the United States.  I used Kamala Harris and Donald Trump as my two people of interest for my project, I found that in majority they both speak on the same events in the world...

Blog Project 2

  Trailer The Housemaid      My biggest reason for choosing The Housemaid directed by Paul Feig is because its the only movie I have seen that has come out in the past two months. I have seen other movies that came out recently however this is the most recent one. The movie stood out to me because I had recently just finished reading the book about a month prior so I wanted to watch the movie because I enjoyed the book.       This movie has a few very known actors and the main male character was recently in a hit movie It Ends With Us by Coleen Hoover. First we have Sydney Sweeney playing the housemaid, she is an American actress twenty eight years old most known for the roles she played in the show Euphoria and Anyone But You. Midterm Winter 2026 Survivor

Challenge Video   For our midterm I decided I wanted to do the second option of talking about a streaming show, specifically the show Survivor. I watched the most recent season starting September 24th and the finale streamed December 17, 2026. I have been watching every season since I was about eight years old but I am focusing on this past season and the season that is starting to stream on February 25 of this year. Survivor is a mix between reality T.V. and a gameshow.  The plot of the show is that about twenty people, in this upcoming season it will be 24 people going to an island in Fiji that will be competing to win One million dollars. In season 50 there will be three starting tribes where they will compete for immunity in very physical challenges that will most likely have some sort of puzzle involved, the first two tribes win immunity and the last tribe will need to go to tribal council where they will need to vote someone off the tribe. My First Blog for Media and Society

About me      My major is political science, I chose it because my goal is to be a criminal defense attorney. My reason for coming to LBCC instead of a four year right away is to save money and create a smooth transition from schools. I am most invested in learning more about how the media works and how to see biases and overly exaggerated and unexaggerated topics that are talked about in the news.       Outside of my college life I love to go outside and go on hikes with my dog, as well as spending time with my family.
