Final

 For my final I wanted to do research on how Political figures use the media to influence the citizens and people of the world as well as how people use the media to shape and influence political figures. First I thought that this was only going to be citizens of the United States but I realized that our political figures also influence people from other areas. A prime example of this is the war/conflict the United States is with Israel. 


I used social media as my main source of information and research because of its large increase of popularity. TikTok currently has 1.9 Billion active users globally, and in the United States it has 135.79 billion active users. It has increased over 42% in the past year and is the 5th most used social media. Instagram has 3 Billion users and 171.7 million users in the United States. 


I used Kamala Harris and Donald Trump as my two people of interest for my project, I found that in majority they both speak on the same events in the world and pressing topics. One big thing that I caught was how Harris spoke on instagram on both Black History month and Womens month and I was only able to find a post for Women's month on Trump’s Media. Something that came to mind with this was that during this time the Epstein files were very popular and allegations against him were being made about him with women, and boys however the focus was more on female allegations. This striked me as trying to almost try to hide from behind one small post. 


When looking at how the media shapes Trump, I found a lot of course talking about not only this presidency but his previous one. Of course one big aspect was how he lost the presidency in between both and how important it was, before Charlie kirk died I found a lot of videos of him speaking on how it was a wonderful accomplishment that deserved praise, I found many other people bringing up that achievement but Charlie Kirk felt like the best example because he was very well known. 

When looking at Harris, the biggest thing that stood out to me was how she “slept” her way to the top. When dating Brown, she is alleged to have “slept” her way to the top.

Overall my conclusion is that both roles play a part in manipulating one another, It almost seems like a matter of when people will start to realize everything is a show in a sense. I find that when running for presidency, it's a pitch that the runners make in hopes to get your vote and there is the backside of how society will help them with their lies.

Challenge Video   For our midterm I decided I wanted to do the second option of talking about a streaming show, specifically the show Survivor. I watched the most recent season starting September 24th and the finale streamed December 17, 2026. My First Blog for Media and Society

About me      My major is political science, I chose it because my goal is to be a criminal defense attorney. My reason for coming to LBCC instead of a four year right away is to save money and create a smooth transition from schools. Blog Project 2

  Trailer The Housemaid      My biggest reason for choosing The Housemaid directed by Paul Feig is because its the only movie I have seen that has come out in the past two months. I have seen other movies that came out recently however this is the most recent one.
